How to Stir Fudge
- 1). Keep your homemade fudge warm and melted in a double boiler on low heat. Do not increase the heat beyond the lowest setting on your stove. This prevents the fudge from scorching.
- 2). Drop in your choice of stir-ins, which are any ingredients you want to add to give texture or flavor to your fudge, such as nuts, chocolate chips or even a ripple of melted peanut butter. Use as much of these added ingredients as you want. However, a standard measurement is 1/4 cup of mix-ins to 2 cups of melted fudge.
- 3). Drag the mix-ins through the melted fudge in a clockwise formation with your wooden spoon, stirring one time in a spiral formation outward. This creates a swirled texture from the center of the hot fudge outward. Do not stir any more if you don't wish to disperse the mix-ins throughout the fudge without a pattern.
- 4). Pour the melted, stirred fudge into the waxed-paper-lined container. Leave it uncovered until it cools and hardens.
