How to Dissolve Splinters
- 1). Wash the affected area with soap and water and pat it dry with a paper towel.
- 2). Mix 1 tbsp. of baking soda with a small amount of water until the mixture becomes a thin paste.
- 3). Dip a cotton swab into the baking soda and water mixture, and apply it so the entire area of the splinter is covered.
- 4). Wrap a gauze or a bandage over the baking soda and water mixture. Leave the bandage on for 24 hours.
- 5). Remove the bandage. The baking soda and water mixture should dislodge the splinter, drawing it to the skin's surface for easy removal.
- 6). Disinfect the area with soap and water.
