Funny Kids' Movies
- The 1971 musical not only presents a great moral tale based on the novel by Roald Dahl, it also showcases the talents of the great Gene Wilder. As Willy Wonka, Wilder shows all the naughty kids visiting his chocolate factory just how awful they are. The dark humor as well as the physical comedy does not go unnoticed in this film.
- A story about a pig whose earnest determination allows him to become a sheepherder and the most beloved pig on the farm seems sentimental enough. However, the interactions between Babe the pig and all the other farm animals gets a large amount of laughs throughout the film. "Babe" remains one of the greatest kids' movies with a lot of comedy and heart.
- "Shrek" revolves around an ogre who gets wrapped up in saving a princess to save his swamp while making friends with a talking donkey along the way. The film pokes fun at the Disney culture and gives parents just as many laughs as the kids. The message at the end to just be yourself is also a welcome conclusion for kids watching.
- This animated Pixar movie became the first in a long line of kids' movies parents can appreciate as well. The story of Woody, the cowboy toy and his coming to terms with the new Buzz Lightyear toy moves the audience while also giving them a lot to laugh about as we see the unique lifestyle and interactions of these toys with the outside world.
- Pee Wee is one of the most lovable weirdos in the history of film. The film that started the famous TV show has plenty of sight gags for the children but also incorporates darkly humorous vignettes as Pee Wee searches the United States to find his stolen bike. The silly movie remains one of the funniest kids movies to this day.
- Though mostly a fantasy movie, "Labyrinth" has a lot of humor in it, as well. The story begins with the heroine, Sarah wishing the Goblin King would take her baby brother away. Once her wish comes true, she must venture into the Goblin City to find him and bring him back home. Along the way, she meets several funny characters including a talking dog and a cowardly goblin named Hoggle.
