How to Make a Flag Staff
- 1). Insert one lag eye screw 2 or 3 inches from the top and bottom of a wooden pole. Both lag eye screws must be on the same side of the flag staff.
- 2). Cut a length of rope or string that is approximately twice the length of your flag staff. Thread the rope or string through the rings, or eyelets, on your flag.
- 3). Pass one of the rope or string through the top lag eye screw on your flag staff. Pull the other end of the rope or string through the lower lag eye screw.
- 4). Tie the two ends of the rope or string together. Cut off any excess. The rope or string should be fairly taut in the lag eyes, but the rope or string should lay partially on the ground.
- 5). Plant the bottom end of your flag staff in your lawn. The flag can be raised or lowered by pulling on the rope.
