Customize Appearance and Sounds

• 1). Add a skin. Purchasing a skin for your Palm Centro can serve two purposes. The first is to add a layer of protection from scratches and everyday wear and tear; the second is to jazz it up. Skins are usually made of vinyl; although you apply them directly to the phone, they are removable. This makes it possible to change the look of your Palm Centro whenever you like. Purchase a ready-made skin or design your own.
  
  
• 2). Change your color theme. Change the system color theme of your Palm Centro by pressing the "Applications" button on the front of your phone, then press "Preferences." Select a color from the list and then select "Done." One idea is to coordinate the color scheme on your phone to match a skin.
  
  
• 3). Add ring tones. To download ring tones, visit the media store for your cell phone provider or visit a third-party site that offers ring tones compatible with your Palm Centro phone. Use your stylus to tap on the ring tone and select it, then select "Save to Device." The ring tone you selected will install in your available ring tones. You can then select the ring tone as the default ring tone or make it caller-specific.
  
  To create custom ring tones, press the "Phone" button, then press "Menu," "Sound Options," "Sound Preferences," and "Manage." To record a sound to use as a ring tone select "New" and record the new ring tone sound. Select "Done" when you finish recording. The new ring tone sound will automatically save to your available ring tones.
  
  

Customize Function

• 1). Install bonus software. Your Palm Centro phone comes with bonus software, such as Google maps, a blogging application, a Facebook application and card games. To install bonus software, press the "Applications" button on the front of the phone, select "MyCentro," and then select the "Bonus" tab. Select the application you want to add and then select "Install Now." Repeat this procedure for each application you select.
  
  
• 2). Add software applications. There are almost limitless options for adding software applications to make your Palm Centro function the way you need it to. Some applications, such as pRevolt, are specific to the Palm Centro. pRevolt changes the appearance of the entire user interface to make it more user-friendly and more closely resemble a classic Windows or Mac interface. Download other applications in areas such as Business, Entertainment, or Productivity.
  
  
• 3). Add streaming media. Subscribing to a streaming media service allows you to watch television from your Palm Centro phone. A streaming media application includes a channel browser and a selection of standard channels. You can purchase additional television channels as well as satellite music channels. Visit the media store of your cell phone provider to sign up for this service.
