How to Remove the Radio From a 2004 Ford Ranger
- 1). Lift the Ranger's hood and loosen the grounding cable's clamp with the wrench. Lift the cable from the negative battery lead post and rest it away from the battery altogether. Move to the truck's cabin.
- 2). Insert the prongs of the Ford DIN tools into the holes near the side edges of the Ranger's factory stereo. Push each of the tools into the head unit until they lock into place.
- 3). Place your fingers into the curved end of each tool and pull the tools outward (away from each other). While maintaining outward tension, pull the stereo unit from the dashboard of the vehicle.
- 4). Disconnect the two wiring connectors plugged into the rear panel of the stereo unit. Disconnect the antenna cable from the back of the stock stereo unit.
