Within each of the many types of Pella Windows are differences in specifications. For example, one series of casement window might qualify for tax credits while another might not. You can choose a double-hung window made with mahogany wood or have it made with fir. For the most up-to-date and accurate specifications, consult the manufacturer's product specific information for the window series you are considering. These are some general specifications for Pella windows. - Choose from mahogany, alder, Douglas fir or pine wood with a range of curved and angled shapes as well as custom sizes and shapes. Select detailed profiles of the sash and grille. You can match historic requirements by selecting divided lights with individual panes of glass instead of the typical solid pane with dividers in the air space or on top of the glass. You can also get grilles, or dividers, between the glass or on the room side as removables.
- Select windows that qualify as Energy Star compliant for energy savings and tax credits. Choose an option that works best for your climate, altitude and home style from two grades of low-e insulating glass.
- There are 27 exterior colors readily available, and you can always select a custom color. Finish the interior portions of the window with your own choice of stain or paint, or choose from eight prefinished options, plus white or primed.
- Pella has three standard hardware colors: champagne, white and brown. If you order a particular frame color, the hardware matches that. Depending on the type of window you select, you can get a crank handle, fold-away crank, cam lock, spoon style or auto-lock latching mechanism.
- Besides conventional screens, Pella has two screen options that provide clearer views and increase light and airflow. Vivid View screens give you 29 percent more light and 21 percent more airflow, according to Pella. InView screens allow 14 percent more light and 8 percent more air.
- You can get Pella windows with impact-resistant glass that resists damage from flying debris. Laminated insulating glass reduces UV light and resists forced entry. Obscure insulating glass lets all the light in while still maintaining your privacy.
- Besides wood frames, Pella offers fiberglass composite window frames that handle all kinds of weather, including years of sea air. The finish is built in, so you do not have to paint or refinish them. Fiberglass also offers the insulating qualities and look of wood. Pella's vinyl-frame windows are maintenance-free, with color that goes all the way through so even scratches and nicks are unnoticeable.
