How to Dry Urethane Fast
- 1). Place the object to be treated in a clean area covered by the plastic sheeting before using the polyurethane. The area should also be well-ventilated, even if there is a high level of humidity outdoors. Though humidity will cause the drying process to take longer, it is very important to give the fumes somewhere to escape.
- 2). Use electric fans to help speed up the drying process. Always have at least two fans positioned in a way that allows air to blow across the entire piece and toward the open ventilation. Make sure to always wear a respirator or mask when drying polyurethane.
- 3). Place a space heater in the room to aid in faster drying. Doing this in conjunction with a couple of fans is the most ideal setup. Place the space heater at least a few feet away from the object, directing the heat toward the open ventilation, along with the fans. Make sure the heater is placed a safe distance away from anything flammable.
