    Engine Performance

    • The 1996 Toyota Corolla base model featured a 1.6-liter, 100-horsepower inline-four engine with 95 pound-feet of torque, while the DX model came equipped with a 1.8-liter, 105-horsepower engine with 110 pound-feet of torque. The bore and stroke for the 1996 Corollas was 3.07 by 3.29 inches for the base model and 3.19 by 3.40 inches for the DX.

    Transmission Performance

    • Each 1996 Toyota Corolla model came equipped with a standard five-speed manual overdrive transmission. The base model, however, featured a three-speed automatic overdrive transmission as optional equipment, while the DX model came with a four-speed automatic overdrive transmission option.

    Fuel Performance
