Get All Glammed Up With At Home Manicures

32
We all know that a trip to the salon for that good ol' manicure can be a little bit pricey.
You can definitely get salon-quality manicures at the comfort of your home.
You don't need to spend bucks to get your nails pretty, and this article will show you just that.
HOW TO GIVE YOURSELF MANICURES AT HOME You will need: Emery Board Cuticle Cutter Nail Buffer Nail Polish Remover (If you have polish that is currently painted on your nails) Nail Brush Orange Stick Nail Polishes (Optional) Bowl of Warm Water Procedure: 1.
Using a cotton ball soaked in polish remover, place it on top of the painted nail, press it slightly to allow the product to dissolve the polish and then start removing it by applying pressure and moving it back and forth.
Continue the same process with the other nails until all of them are completely polish free.
For hard to reach places, you can gt a Q-tip, dab it in a little bit of polish remover, and remove the remaining polish.
You can skip this step if you don't have any polish on.
2.
With an emery board, file your nails to its desired shape (oval is the most favored shape).
Use short, smooth strokes and don't file away at the corners because it will weaken the structure of the nails, and will therefore cause them to get broken easily.
It is recommended to use a glass nail file because it gives you the effect that you want.
But, if you choose not to, then you can go ahead and choose any type of nail file that you want.
3.
Soak your nails in warm water for 4-5 minutes in order to soften the cuticles.
Using an orange stick or a cuticle pusher, gently push back the cuticles.
Never cut the cuticles.
You may end up having hang nails if you do just that.
If you have hang nails, use a cuticle cutter to cut them.
4.
Using a nail brush, brush off any remaining debris and make sure that your nails are squeaky clean.
If you choose to remain nail-polish free for a while, you may finish the manicure by buffing your nails lightly from the base up to the tip.
5.
If you want to put on a new polish, you may apply a base coat (use a nail hardener if you have weak nails).
The strokes may vary depending on how big your nails are.
The general rule for an even coat: apply the polish at the center, then at the sides.
This method can be referred to as the three-stroke method.
6.
Wait for the first coat to dry so as to avoid any bubbles.
7.
Apply the second coat (you may apply a 3rd or fourth coat if you want to make sheer type of polishes more opaque).
8.
Once the polish dries, apply a top coat in order to make it look more vibrant and salon-worthy.
Giving yourself at home manicures can be really simple and easy.
You don't have to visit the salon in order to get them done.
It saves you a lot of money in the long run.
