How to Be Ready to Compromise

5
We humans are born with an innate tendency to always have things done our way.
We have our own tastes and preferences and would like to go by them most of the time.
The trouble begins when we like something that is not liked very much by another person.
If the other person happens to be a stranger, we need not bother much about the incident as we may never meet that person again in all probability.
But if that person happens to be someone personally close to us, like a family member or spouse that is when a lot of compromise has to take place.
Since the relationship is important, the needs of both people have to be given equal importance.
When both people in the relationship are stubborn and do not compromise, eventually the relationship would get strained.
At least one of the two needs to be willing to compromise.
Even if the other person holds on to their position since one person is willing to compromise, the problem can be resolved smoothly.
And when the two people happen to be husband and wife, it is all the more important for them to understand this in order to enjoy a happy married life.
Many couples wrongly assume that the person who is right has the right to hold on to their position and the wrong person needs to compromise, but this is an erroneous assumption.
Neither the right person nor the wrong person has the right to hold on to their position.
A marriage is a love relationship.
Love is never selfish.
It endures all things.
A person who is loving would be ready to compromise even if the other person is in the wrong.
So it is all about love, commitment and loyalty, and not just infatuation.
