When a person thinks about an allergy to something they usually think about a certain food or something else like pollen.
They rarely think that a reaction to dust would come up as being a problem.
The truth is that there are those people out there that will suffer from an allergy to dust and dustmites that will cause them quite a few problem in their life.
These problems are related to several factors.
The first of which is a house that is not cleaned on a regular basis.
Some of the symptoms that are common with a dust watery eyes as well as itching and hay fever.
These reactions are not as common as the swelling of respiratory passages as this is the most common of symptoms of dust allergy.
Rare occasions of skin irritation are possible but most times are very unlikely.
There are several ways that you can cut down the reactions that you experience from dust by doing a few simple things to cut down on your exposure to the allergen.
First is is strongly suggested that you wash your bed liens at least once a week to help cut down on your exposure.
Second make sure that things that are small and can easily trap dust are put away as to prevent you from having an increased exposure to dust.
Places like your desk are prime places for dust to collect.
This collection is what will lead to you having an allergic reaction to dust and dust mites.
If you have traditional furniture then it is time for that to go as you will need to replace that with fabrics such as leather to prevent any trapping of dirt and dust in your furniture.
If you have carpet that is thick then it too needs to head out the door and be replaced.
In addition to this any carpet that you have needs to be vacuumed on a regular basis.
The last thing that you will be able to do in an effort to curb the allergy to dust is to keep your homes temperature at or below 70 degrees as this will help to keep levels of dust down to a low level.
Following these simple steps will help to ensure that your exposure to dust will be kept down to a minimum.
If this still does not work then you will need to visit an allergist to help and control your symptoms from exposure from dust.
