    • 1). Sweep all dirt and debris from the roof with a push broom. Hammer down all raised nail heads.

    • 2). Roll out waterproof roofing felt on the roof surface. Use a roofing knife to cut the material to fit around the base of vents and other protrusions. Secure the felt with 1-inch roofing nails. Hammer roofing nails straight down the sides and center of the sheets in 6-inch intervals.

    • 3). Measure the length of the roof edge with a tape measure. Use metal cutting shears to cut metal flashing material for the edge of the roof. Use a hammer and 1-inch roofing nails to install the flashing.

    • 4). Measure in 1/4-inch from the edge on the gable end (ridge line) of the roof. Mark this spot with a pencil. Repeat this step on the opposite end. Use a chalk box to snap a vertical chalk line 1/4-inch from the edge of the roof between the two pencil marks. This straight line is the guide for the first steel metal panel.

    • 5). Install the first steel panel square to the eave, starting at the gable end (ridge line) of the roof. Use the chalk line as a starting point. Allow 1 inch of the steel panel to overhang the edge of the roof. Install steel panel clips along the edge of the panels at 18-inch intervals. Insert 1-inch steel metal screws through the predetermined holes of the clips. Secure the panel to the roof using a drill with Phillips-head attachment. Use a turn-down tool to fold the 1 inch overhang under the eave. Work toward the opposite end of the roof.

    • 6). Position the second steel panel flush to the eave with the female edge aligned to the male edge of the previously installed first panel. Refer to the manufacturer's manual for the identification of male and female edges.

    • 7). Snap the panel seams together and tap them down firmly using a rubber mallet.

    • 8). Install the remaining panels using the instructions detailed in Steps 2, 3 and 4. Use metal cutting shears to trim the steel panels to fit around vents and other protrusions.

    • 9). Use a chalk box to snap a chalk line along the non-vented side of the ridge line. Install the foam closure strip along the chalk line the full length of the ridge line. Apply double-sided butyl tape to the top of the foam strip.

Place the first metal ridge cap into position at the top of the ridge on one end. Allow 6 inches to overhang the edge of the roof. Press the ridge cap down firmly on the foam closure strip. Use a drill and 2-inch steel metal screws to secure the ridge cap. Drill a screw through the metal cap and foam closure strip at each rib. Continue until metal ridge caps have been installed along the full length of the ridge. Trim the last ridge cap to fit the end, leaving a 6 inch overhang. Bend the 6-inch overhang down on both ends of the ridge and secure with 2-inch metal screws.

Install rubber pipe boot kits to all pipes. Use a caulking gun to apply a generous bead of roofing caulk around the base of the rubber boots to seal out moisture.
