Have you got friends or family members who can eat what they like and still stay slim.
I have and its sickening, I use to only have to look at a cake and put weight on.
Not any more, the secret to long term weight loss and keeping it off is your metabolic rate its as simple as that.
Now that we know this, we need to do everything in our power to speed it up.
So here is three simple steps I did to speed up my metabolism and lose lots of weight in the process.
Step one Start lifting weights, weight training is a fantastic way to exercise and build up your lean muscle mass.
As we get older our lean muscle mass naturally reduces, which leads to a slower metabolic rate, which leans to weight gain or as its more commonly known middle aged spread.
A pound of muscle, will burn off a lot more calories than a pound of fat.
Lifting weights and eating a diet high in lean protein will allow us to build up the lean muscle mass on our bodies, which will increase our metabolism.
Step two Eat smaller meals but more often.
If you are eating three large meals a day you are doing it all wrong.
You need to start eating 5 to 6 smaller meals that are evenly spaced out throughout the day.
By doing this you will naturally speed up your metabolism.
Our bodies can only use so many calories at each meal, any left over will be stored as fat.
By reducing your meals and eating less at each meals you are ensuring that all the calories you eat are being used for energy.
Step three Swap the cups of coffee for cups of green tea.
Studies have shown that drinking green tea can dramatically speed up a persons metabolism.
Losing weight and keeping it off is all down to your metabolism and the calories you consume each day.
Consume less calories than your body needs each day and you will lose weight.
Do it in a way that speeds up your metabolism and you will quickly be on your way to long term weight loss, instead of the short term results you get with rapid weight loss diets.
