Christians - Learn to Be Contented
Christians must learn to relax with being contented.
Put another way, every Christian needs to know the need to be satisfied in every given situation.
"What does 'contentment' mean?" you might be desirous to ask.
It means learning to be happy with the little you have, never more so.
Human wants are in numbers that can never be accurately numbered.
So has it been; so will it ever remain.
No better grammatical framing will be sufficient to see it otherwise.
There are things you count as important which, sad enough, you don't have.
Teach yourself how to live without them.
It will be good if every Christian knows.
Happiness certainly will mean many things to many people.
It isn't getting all you want; it's enjoying what God feels you need at some point in time.
Very often, you feel things are far less pleasant in description as they relate to you.
But be reminded that your situation could be worse.
Yes, it is easy to think and remember that some people are stuck tight in palatial splendor but you could do better to call to mind that you could have been a one-legged fowl struggling to gain a stand in an attempt to pick a crumb in a fast running erosion.
Which is your option? I'll leave that to you as a religious pabulum.
Material acquisition can be less apposite; they may secure for us some satisfaction, though.
Have the understanding that what you must seek is spiritual.
It's on this note that Paul draws our attention to the danger in 'greed', which is idolatry' (Colossians 3:5) NIV).
Our main task neither lies with us comparing ourselves with others nor eagerly desirous of things belonging to people other than us.
It's for us to be able to identify the want that should lie at the very basis of our wanting - that we truly want God.
"Our souls will know no rest until they rest in God" just to paraphrase Augustine.
If God allows us to feel at home here on earth, then we may hanker not after what can take us to our true home.
A little inconvenience every once in a while can assist us to achieve a steep climb in our spiritual hunger for prayers and in the end enable us to achieve the ultimate - getting counted among those to reign with God for 1000 years.
Shalom!
