How to Make a Stemware Glass Holder
- 1). Lay your oak board flat on its 10-inch-by-10-inch side. Draw two straight, intersecting lines from corner to corner. Starting with the first line you drew, draw two more one on each side so they are parallel and 3/16-inch away from the first line. Repeat this process with the second line that you drew.
- 2). Measure 4 inches from the corners along the first two lines that were drawn. Drill four 1/2-inch holes at these measurements.
- 3). Use your bandsaw to cut four 3/8-inch grooves by cutting along the lines you drew 3/16-inch away from the first two lines. Cut 4 inches into the oak square so the cut meets the 1/2-inch hole.
- 4). Drill a 1 1/4-inch hole where the first two lines intersect.
- 5). Sand down both sides of the oak with medium grade sandpaper and then with fine sandpaper. Apply your wood stain and let dry according to instructions.
