5 Reasons We Need To Take Vacations
Many of us remember a variety of advertisements, where the central theme was, I need to take a vacation, but it might be fun to examine some of the reasons we so often look forward to our vacations, and especially those where we go away.
Although, in the last few years, the term, Staycation, has become part of our vernacular, for many of us, it's still only a real vacation when we get away, and go somewhere.
Everyone has a different idea of what their perfect one might be, but the underlying mindset and reasoning often has a resonance throughout various social strati, environments, and regional groups.
Although the costs of vacations often varies significantly, this article seeks to look at the reasoning, rather than the actual details of the trip itself.
For that reason, here are 5 Reasons many of us really need to take a vacation.
1.
Need a break/ Avoid burnout: Many people totally absorb themselves into their work, and expend their energies in that direction, for the vast majority of the year.
For some, they get only a couple of weeks away, while others are fortunate enough to be in a position where they are able to take more time.
Much of this is due to a combination of how it impacts our perception and/ or attitude, invigorates us, energizes, or merely gives us a little time to refresh ourselves (even for a short while), if only because it gives us a little break.
2.
Experience something new or different: One of the greatest motivations to many people is the prospect of change and something new and/ or exciting.
It energizes us when we do something we haven't done before.
In some instances, this permits gaining some quality culture, while for others, it may merely be about having fun or excitement.
3.
Go back to a home away from home: Is there anyplace you've ever travelled to that made you feel so comfortable and/ or relaxed, that it felt like a home away from home? Do you personally, or certainly you must know people, who constantly go back to the same venue or region, because they feel so comfortable, enjoy it, or actually own a vacation home someplace.
4.
Spend time with friends and/ or relatives: While for some of us, the prospect of spending more time with family is terrifying, for many, it is something they yearn for.
Some love to spend more times with either their relatives or friends (e.
g.
cousins clubs, reunions, etc.
), and for these people, that is their ideal vacation.
5.
Romance: Many couples feel they need to get away in order to rekindle the flames, and enhance their romantic lives.
Destinations such as Sandals have based their business model on appealing to this segment of the population.
When we're away, there are generally fewer interferences, etc.
So, why do you need a vacation? Is it because of one of these five reasons, or is it something else that drives you?
