How to Make Bug Screens for Trucks

14
    • 1). Measure the opening of your truck's grille with a tape measure. Cut a piece of aluminum screen using scissors to a size slightly larger than the opening you have measured. Fold the ends of both of the screen's vertical sides about 1/4 inch over to strengthen the screen and make its edges smooth.

    • 2). Pop your vehicle's hood, and insert the screen into the bumper area, behind the grille of the truck. It may take some maneuvering to get the screen in the right position, but don't bend the screen to the point where you cannot smooth it back out once you have it in place.

    • 3). Attach the screen to the back of the truck's grille using metal wire. Cut off pieces of wire using pliers, and run them through holes in the screen and back around the grille. Twist the wire around the grille tightly to hold the screen in place. Tie pieces of metal wire around all areas of the grille so the screen attaches securely all the way across the bumper. Cut off any extra wire protruding from the twists using pliers. Close the hood.
