How to Do Summer Braids
- 1). Part your hair evenly down the center of your head.
- 2). Divide the hair at the very front of your head, beginning with the right side, into three even sections. Begin braiding the three sections back, toward your ear. With each strand that you cross over, pick up a small, even section of loose hair from the same side of your head. According to Maria Neuman, author of "Fabulous Hair," this will hold the braid to your head in the same way a cornrow or French braid would.
- 3). Braid in this fashion until the braid is behind your ear and you do not have any more hair to pick up from your scalp. At this point, tie the braid off with a hair tie.
- 4). Repeat the braiding process on the other side of your head to complete your summer braids.
