How to Create a Listing Picture to Sell a Vehicle
- 1). Find an attractive setting to photograph your car. You should always photograph your car in front of a nice backdrop, such as a park or trees. Most buyers will look at the entire photograph, and if you have an ugly backdrop behind your car they may subconsciously associate your car with low quality.
- 2). Take at least eight pictures of your vehicle, including at least one of the front, back, side, engine and interior. When photographing the car from the front or the rear, take the picture from the corner of the bumper. This angle will give buyers a good view of the entire car.
- 3). Connect your digital camera to your computer using the camera's USB cable. Insert the cable into the computer's USB port and open the camera's shutter. A folder will pop up containing your car's photographs.
- 4). Open each photograph by double-clicking it. This will open the photograph in Microsoft's picture editing software program, which will allow you to make any changes to the pictures.
- 5). Click the Fix button in the upper toolbar of the editing program, and use the program's tools to crop or adjust the pictures, if necessary. The tools will appear on the right side of the page once you click on the Fix button. Crop out any unsightly items in the picture and use the Adjust Exposure tool to make the picture brighter or darker.
- 6). Click on the Insert button in the upper toolbar, and use this tool to block out your license plate number in the picture. You can insert a solid shape, such as a black rectangle, to cover the license plate. You should never allow users to see your license plate number in the advertisement.
- 7). Download the pictures to the website on which you will be advertising your car. You can also send the pictures via email to the webmaster or to the advertising agent handling your posting for a newspaper or magazine.
