  The first Jacuzzi was invented in the 1950s, consisting of a portable pump that could be placed in any bathtub to provide hydrotherapeutic treatment for arthritis pain. Today, "Jacuzzi," "whirlpool" and "hot tub" are used interchangably to describe tubs with heating, filtration systems and therapeutic water jets. Jacuzzi suites are available at many hotels across the state of Michigan.
  
  

Bavarian Inn of Frankenmuth

• Founded in 1845 by German colonists, Frankenmuth is known as "Michigan's Little Bavaria." The Bavarian Inn Lodge's architecture reflects this heritage. The Lodge has 360 rooms, each named for one of the founding families of Frankenmuth. 24 suites are equipped with whirlpools. Rooms are equipped with coffee makers, refrigerators and hair dryers. Free wireless Internet access is provided. Five indoor pools, four tennis courts, two restaurants, a children's play area and an 18-hole miniature golf course are located within the lodge.
  
  

Grand Traverse Resort and Spa

• The Grand Traverse Resort and Spa facility covers 900 acres and offers 600 rooms, suites and condominiums; 186 rooms and suites equipped with Jacuzzis are available. The resort property includes 54 holes of championship golf, with courses designed by Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player. A spa, four restaurants and a wine shop are on site. An indoor pool, an outdoor pool and a 10,000-square-foot fitness facility with two indoor tennis courts are also found at the resort. Amenities include flat-screen TVs, refrigerators, and in-room coffee makers. Eco-friendly features include recycling bins, energy-efficient light bulbs, a linen re-use program and bio-friendly cleaning products.
  
  

Kewadin Casino Hotel

• The Kewadin Casino Hotel offers 29 Jacuzzi rooms and suites. Hair dryers, irons and in-room coffee are found in all rooms; refrigerators and microwaves are provided in the suites. Free wireless Internet is available. The hotel facility includes a pool, whirlpool, sauna, business center and fitness center. A restaurant and a deli are found on-site, and room service is available. Gaming and entertainment are offered at the Casino. The Kewadin complex is about three miles from the world-famous Soo Locks and downtown Sault Ste. Marie.
  
  

Weber's Inn

• Located just two miles from the University of Michigan campus, Weber's is a full-service hotel. Founded in 1937, the family-owned hotel boasts seven Jacuzzi suites. Amenities include 37" televisions with 65 cable channels, plus pay-per-view movies and sports, refrigerators, coffee makers, iPod stereos, hair dryers, irons and in-room safes. Each suite includes a separate bedroom and a balcony or walk-out area; some suites have two balconies. Complimentary high-speed Internet access and nightly turn-down services are provided. A restaurant and night club are located on the premises and in-room dining is available.
