Floating Hardwood Floors 101

46
Floating hardwood floors are wood layers made using engineered manufacturing.
They can easily be laid over tiles and other surfaces.
While many years ago this has not been available, now many homeowners enjoy this modern flooring type that is extremely easy to care for and looks pretty good.
Earlier on if you wanted to have hardwood floors at home, you had to strip down the original level first and then lay your new set.
However now the floating type can be effectively added to almost any available surface without ripping out anything.
Installation is quite easy, you can either use the glue system or the grove interlocking system with a tongue.
Of course you must make sure first that the floor is clean and smooth before laying down the floating layer.
Also if there are any holes or gaps, they need first to be filled in.
Smoothness in the surface is everything.
You should sand and buff the floor and any debris resulted will need to be hoovered away.
However this is mostly the preparation you need to do before you actually put your new layer.
Once you have it all set, you'll see quite a difference in look and feel.
The floating floor gives you an extra layer of comfort to step on.
You can also use the click flooring that simply allows the pieces to click together without any fuss.
There are actually several YouTube videos showing how to install it using this particular way.
There is also a video on my website about it.
Cleaning this flooring type is very easy and you can enjoy it for many years ahead.
If you're still in doubt whether you should get it for your own home, think no further.
It's a great investment to have.
