Therefore a homeowner will do anything to get rid of the moles. The moles spoil the roots of the plants as they borrow and this leads to wilting and drying of the trees and flowers on the flowerbeds. Moles are also believed to carry diseases like rabies. It is at this point that one will find catching and releasing the mole away from their homestead an option.

There are many reasons why you may want to get a mole out of your yard. These pests burrow in the ground, leaving blemishes on your manicured lawn. They eat the roots of your plants and flowers, causing them to die. And they are known to carry diseases such as rabies. There are a few methods of how to catch a mole:

a) Maintain short grass and neat lawns

By keeping the grass short, you will be able to easily locate the moles movement because the tunnels will stick out higher than the well cut grass. When you find the moles' tunnel you will be able to plan on how to catch it. When you find where the tunnel is, do not place soils or sod on it as this will make seeing the tunnels hard.

b) Since you have spotted the opening to the tunnel, the next thing is to decide where to locate a trap such that it will be able to catch the mole. Be sure you find the most recent tunnels as this is where the moles could be living now.You can do so by flattening the molehill and if it s built overnight, and then you know the mole lives in there.

c) The next thing now is to get a mole pit, which you will use to trap the mole. You do this by digging a hole in the opening of the tunnel.Dig a hole big enough to fit a can or a glass jar that will hold the mole once it is trapped. Slide the bowl such that its opening such that it glitters and then cover the hole with a hard pad this pad makes a ceiling to the tunnel. When the mole comes into the tunnel, it will fall into the jar and cannot find its way into the tunnel and there you have got it.

When the morning comes, and your mole is in the trap jar, carefully remove the jar bearing in mind that moles do bite.You can the release the mole elsewhere, this should be done far from your homestead. There are however traps that are available and can be bought. These traps can choke, crush or impale the mouse.
