Add a Tropical Look to Your Patio

3
Many people around the world dream of gently swaying coconut palm covered tropical islands with pristine white sandy beaches and warm crystal clear blue sparkling waters.
And on the beach, thatch covered huts, hammocks and reed umbrellas.
Even if you are not in the tropics you can achieve the feeling all year round with a simple addition to your patio or picnic table using a Thatched Reed Umbrella.
Thatch Combo Umbrellas produce cooler (approx.
10 degrees) shade environments than canvas covers because warm air escapes through the reeds.
They are fantastic in windy climates because the wind blows straight though and they are 99% waterproof.
I have personally seen our one in almost 100mph winds and it hardly moves.
The reed panels may last between 5-9 years depending on climate.
No maintenance or cleaning necessary and it stays up on your picnic table all year round.
The sections of reeds are about 2 feet long by 15" wide and are about 1" thick.
The ends of the reeds are glued into a plastic channel.
This means that it has the flexibility to mold itself around objects like the umbrella structure.
Each section of reed thatch is attached by plastic clips to the steel framework of the umbrella.
You can source them by entering a search on Google and I'm sure you will find someone in your area who sells them.
Many of the reed ones are sourced in South Africa.
The umbrella will be a spectacular complement to the table you have built from your picnic table plan.
