How to Make a Stroller from Styrofoam
- 1). Choose Styrofoam of the desired thickness to complete your project. Thin Styrofoam will be lighter to transport, but more fragile. Thicker Styrofoam will not break or crumble as easily. Lay the Styrofoam on a protected work surface. With a pencil draw the outline of a baby stroller on the Styrofoam. A freehand drawing or a template found online both work well. Cut the Styrofoam, using a sharp knife or Styrofoam cutter and spray paint the stroller in the desired color.
- 2). Cut four circles out of foam board for the wheels. Make a stencil and spray paint the wheels silver or black. Cut two pieces of dowel stick slightly longer than the thickness of the stroller. Create two holes at the bottom of the stroller where the wheels will be, using a sharp knife. Insert the dowel stick into the holes and fasten the wheels to the ends of the stick with a hot glue gun. If the wheels feel unstable, punch a hole through the center of the wheels and insert the dowel stick through the hole and glue.
- 3). Customize your stroller any way you like. You can finish with ribbons and sparkle and you can cut a circle out of foam core to attach to the top of the stroller. Draw a face on this circle, and it will appear that there is a baby inside.
