• 1). Set up your dog's crate in an area where it's easy to observe your puppy. A key factor in quick house training is to watch your puppy at all times and pick up on signs that she has to potty. Pad the crate with her favorite bed and a few toys to keep her happy and comfortable.
  
  
• 2). Place your puppy on a regular feeding schedule. Dogs most often have to potty after meals and when waking, so knowing when you fed your puppy will set you for knowing when to let her outside.
  
  
• 3). Select an area of your yard that will be specifically designated as a potty spot. Dogs are creatures of habit and will associate potty time with that one area as long as they are consistently encouraged to go there. • 6). Allow puppy a few quiet minutes to do her business without interruption or distraction. She will sniff and look around for a good spot to go and will squat down when she is ready. Just ignore her and give her time alone to go, as some dogs will resist going if they feel nervous.
  
  
• 7). Praise puppy as soon as he finishes going. Let him know that he is a good boy, and offer him a favorite treat and lots of pats or hugs once he goes.
