Hi, I'm Basil Enan, founder and CEO of CoverHound.com, a fast and easy way to comparison shop for auto and homeowner's insurance online. And today, we're talking about commercial auto insurance and what it covers. People are often confused about commercial auto insurance, and what it covers. Because in a lot of ways, it's very similar to personal insurance coverage, so it'll cover the same types of things. Like, if you're involved in an accident and of course, liability, if you end up causing damage to somebody's personal property. The difference between commercial and personal property, is pretty obvious, really. It's, is the vehicle owned by a business and is that vehicle involve din business activities? So, the line gets a little bit blurry between sole proprietorship, maybe you own your own business. Do you use your vehicle solely for business purposes or is it personalized? You have to ask your agent in that case, which policy is the best for you. But there's a couple key things to think about. And it really comes down, the first one is, the levels of coverage. If you need more than five hundred thousand or more than a million dollars in coverage, which many small businesses do. You're going to be on a commercial auto policy. If you have less than that, you might be able to get away, with just using your personal policy. The second is, usually how many vehicles are covered under that. So, if it's just you, and you're the name insured and you drive your car around to a couple, different job sites each day. Might be able to be covered under personalized. Commercial would be multi-vehicles and typically commercial auto covers vans, cars, and light trucks like pick-ups. But anything bigger than that, like a tow-truck or really large delivery vans, might need to have a different type of coverage. I'm Basil Enan, founder of CoverHound.com, thanks for listening.
