Electric Guitar Lessons Online - Cut Out The Hype & Deliver
How many online guitar lessons sales pages have you seen that consist of 80% hype, 10% filler and 10% real info? Yeah! There are quite a few out there.
Hype marketing has been around for a long time, way before the birth of internet.
"You'll be able to do this in two minutes flat!" "Now you can...
!"" Amaze your friends with...
!" Do these phrases sound familiar to you? Have you ever bought something on an impulse because it was so hyped up? I'm sure most of us have at one time or another.
And I'm sure that it ended up in the closet two days later.
If the online electric guitar course they're trying to sell is really that good it will basically sell itself with less effort just by mentioning its features and advantages.
And if it's really good, a lot of people will be vouching for it even by word of mouth.
Visit music forums and find out what the people think about a certain method you intend to buy.
A lot of people are already teaching those amazing 'guitar secrets' these hype monsters are talking about with normal, everyday language, but these hypsters want to be the ones to make the sale, so they talk straight 'at' your ego to try and get you to make an impulse buy.
Is there really such a thing as 'guitar secrets'? I admit there may be some, but just by watching a guitarist perform, you can see and hear their 'secrets' because they use them to play for you.
Don't get fooled by hype.
See around it and look at what the guitar method is really offering you.
If you're looking to improve your speed, look for a speed training method.
If you want to learn how to read TAB, make sure it delivers a way to learn it.
And if you don't get what they're promising, demand a refund! If I were to tell you that you'll be able to play like Eric Clapton in two months, even if you're a complete beginner, wouldn't this be an insult to Eric Clapton? I mean, he has spent his whole life playing the guitar and I'm going to teach you how to do it in two months right from scratch! I know that your desire may be to play like him, but if you don't even know the ABC's of guitar, how am I going to be able to teach you the JKL's of it.
If you're a beginner to intermediate player already, teaching you how to play like Eric Clapton is feasible, but you need to practice.
Buying a method is no guarantee that you're going to use it to learn.
...
That's your part.
When I was young, I remember that everyone around me and his sister wanted to know how to play the guitar, but as I got older (I'm not that old yet!), the suds settled and only the people who really wanted to be 'musicians' are still playing today.
Are you one of these? One of those people who will still be playing in 10 years' time? Only how much you love music and want to play it will determine this in the end.
If you really want to be a musician, look at what you are going to buy as an investment.
I have bought some guitar books through the years that I still take a peek at for some reference or to consolidate some technique that I didn't have time to work on before.
I cherish these books because, when I bought some of them, I didn't have much money and tried my hardest to make a wise decision.
I guess that's what saved me from being an impulse buyer.
When searching through the internet to buy an online method, even if you have the money, do it as if you could only afford to buy one method.
Poverty has it's advantages.
If you're poor, you don't waste money unnecessarily.
Also, you're doing us all a favour by helping to get rid of the hype when it comes to selling electric guitar lessons online.
