How to Use Your Failure to Achieve Success

14
Failure has a way of playing mind tricks with the uninitiated.
We've all had failures great and small.
Why do some get stuck and others master their failures and succeed? How can we use failure to achieve success? 1.
Acknowledge Your Failure.
That doesn't always mean you share it with everyone but "to thine own self be true.
" What you resist will persist.
Come to terms with it.
You can't be blind-sided with conscious awareness.
Acknowledgment versus denial puts failure into proper perspective.
2.
Dis-empower Your Failure.
Failure is an event, separate from you as a person.
You are not your failure.
It is nothing more than a lesson of instruction to help you to know yourself more accurately.
Failure merely reveals that you were on a false path as you attempted to achieve your goals.
It helps to identify that false path so you can make the necessary adjustment or correction.
3.
Learn From Your Failure.
The wonderful blessing of failure is its marvelous lessons of wisdom.
Yes, sometimes these lessons are painful.
But, so are toothaches which worsen if ignored.
Often, no pain means no gain.
The deep insights which are gained by reflection on failure teach much needed lessons.
Change your perspective and view failure as your teacher.
Ask, what can I do better, more positively and effectively.
Or ask what should be avoided and eliminated.
4.
Apply The Lessons You Learn From Failure.
Corrective action always triumphs over failure.
One of the most positive statements I read early on, was, "every adversity has within itself a seed of an equivalent or greater benefit.
" Exploit the failure for all the good it contains.
Tame it as you would a wild horse and it will cease to throw you from the saddle.
Ignore it and you'll repeat it or be afraid to mount for the next ride.
5.
Create A Plan From Your Failure.
Use the flip side of failures to point out what should and should not be done.
Turn this into your success plan.
In the meantime share it with others and save them the trouble so they too can benefit from your wisdom.
You'll be sowing good seed from which you can reap a great harvest.
6.
Look For the Humor Your Failures.
Some failures often provide great entertainment.
When you can look at the experience and laugh at it, you have an even greater power over it.
7.
Express Gratitude for Your Failure.
Reflect thoughtfully on them.
They usually contain more hidden successes than may appear at first.
Appreciation and gratitude help to adjust your focus allowing you to milk the failure for all of its success.
Follow these suggestions and you'll make your failures a great tool for achieving success.
