How to Plunge a Toilet Without a Plunger
- 1). Remove the lid of the 2-liter bottle and empty the contents. You can pour the liquid in a separate container if you want to save it. Do not put the lid back on the bottle.
- 2). Put on waterproof gloves. Stick the opening of the bottle into the hole in the bottom of the toilet. Push the bottle in as far as it will go. Let as little water in the bottle as possible.
- 3). Squeeze the bottle quickly and firmly to force the air out. Loosen your grip on the bottle and let water flow back in. The bottle should regain its shape to some extent.
- 4). Squeeze the bottle again to force the water out. Loosen your grip to let water flow back in. The forceful back and forth flow of the water creates a vacuum similar to the one created by a plunger.
- 5). Repeat the process until the toilet is unclogged. It takes about five squeezes of the bottle to clear a typical clog.
- 6). Dispose of the bottle after use.
