How to Take Pictures of a Fishing Tournament
- 1). Rent a motor boat to travel around the lake taking photographs of the different tournament entrants. If you ride along with one fisher, you will only be able to photograph him or the other fishers on his boat. By traveling on your own boat, you can travel between fishers and take photographs of each person entered into the competition.
- 2). Use a quality film or digital camera rated to take or adjusted to take high speed photographs. You want a quality camera to take detailed photographs with and also be able to take photographs of people and fish in motion; this will allow you to capture images of a fish being pulled out of the water.
- 3). Take photos of fishers in the act of catching their trophies and take photographs of the fisher holding the fish they have caught. This can also be used in catch and release tournaments to determine the winners of the tournaments.
- 4). Stay several yards away from the fishermen, so that you do not disrupt the fish in the area they are fishing. Use a quality zoom to take pictures from a distance and move closer to the fisherman's boat only when he is planning to move to another fishing location and suggests that you move in for a better shot.
