How to Use a Chinese Squat Toilet
Things You'll Need
Instructions
1Take a handful of toilet paper with you into the bathroom stall, as there is no toilet paper in the individual stalls. Take toilet tissue with you on your trip to avoid scratching your bum with the sandpaper Chinese call toilet paper.
2
Check the toilet for cleanliness before closing the stall door. Choose a different stall if the toilet is not up to your hygiene standards. Once in, close and lock the stall.
3
Position your feet on the foot markers. Place your feet somewhere in the general vicinity of the foot markers if the markers are dirty.
4
Drop your drawers, using great caution to keep them from coming in contact with the very dirty floors.
5
Bend your knees like you are skiing down a steep hill. Stick your bum as far back as possible to keep from soiling your clothes.
6
Use one of your hands to push your pants and undergarments as far forward and out of the way as possible. Hold your tissue in the opposite hand. Refrain from using either hand to balance yourself by touching the floor or wall.
7
Clean yourself up with the tissue, then discard it in the box behind the squatting hole. Pull up your drawers and exit the stall. Wash your hands with plenty of soap, followed up by a good dose of hand sanitizer.
