How to Make a Decorative Wreath for a Door
- 1). Choose a faux or real 22-inch silver fir wreath. Keep in mind that a faux wreath will last longer, while a real version will infuse your home with a festive scent.
- 2). Create holly berry sprigs. Use floral shears to snip real or faux holly berry branches to create 5-inch sprigs. Place each sprig stem against a floral pick and wrap it with thin craft wire to secure. Insert the berry sprig-enhanced floral picks randomly throughout the wreath.
- 3). Create a glowing wreath with string lights. Choose a small string of tiny white lights for an elegant look. Wrap the lights completely around the perimeter of the wreath so that the cord hangs down. Connect the light cord to an extension cord if you plan to display the wreath far from an electrical socket.
- 4). Enhance the wreath with a decorative bow. Wrap a wide red velvet ribbon around the bottom of the wreath and tie it into a bow. Use a gold or silver ribbon for an elegant style or a red and green plaid ribbon to create a rustic look.
- 5). Wrap the top of the wreath with floral wire and create a loop for hanging. Hang the wreath from a door nail or hook.
