Lights

• Permanent light fixtures are are stationary, or attached to a ceiling or a wall in a home. With the exception of older homes, most rooms in a home have permanent light fixtures. Types of permanent light fixtures include recessed lighting, surface-mounted lights and outdoor lights. Recessed lights can be "cans" with a variety of lamps, fluorescent lights, cove lights, which are recessed into the ceiling, and torch lamps. Chandeliers, pendant lights, sconces, track lighting, under-cabinet lighting, emergency lighting or exit lighting, high and low bay lighting and strip or industrial lighting are all examples of surface-mounted lights. Outdoor lighting includes pole or mounted lights, pathway lighting, bollard lighting, sign lighting, street lighting, yard lighting and garden lighting.
  
  

Ceiling Fans

• Some rooms have ceiling fans, which are used to circulate air. Ceiling fans have a summer and winter setting. Changing the setting allows for the blades to go in either direction, drawing the air up or pushing the air down. The most common rooms to house ceiling fans are living rooms and bedrooms, although some homes have outdoor ceiling fans on porches (to help keep bugs away) and in kitchens (to help ventilate). Ceiling fans are available in more than one size and can have a light attached to the fan. Some fans have various speeds, and the fans come in many colors and designs.
  
  

Faucets

• Faucets are another type of permanent fixture found throughout a home. Places you'll find faucets include the kitchen sink, bathroom sink, in a bathtub or shower, in a utility sink (usually found in a basement or a garage) and on the outside of the house where a hose can be hooked up. Some homes also have faucets on outdoor sinks, used for entertaining purposes. Faucets are available in a variety of colors, sizes, styles (including chrome, nickel, charcoal, and gold) and designs. A faucet can be an artistic addition to a room and can be chosen to match the room's decor.
  
  

Toilets

• Toilets are a permanent bathroom fixture. They're found in full bathrooms (a room containing a toilet, a sink and a bathtub and shower), in 3/4 baths (a bathroom with a toilet, a sink and a shower only) and powder rooms (a room with just a toilet and a sink). Toilets are available in various sizes, and can come in larger sizes to make them handicap accessible. They are also available in many different designs and colors and can be matched to a specific color scheme.
