India is widely known for its unique topography and astonishing wildlife. And to protect it, the government has set up a number of animal reserves and sanctuaries all across the country. These sanctuaries are home to exotic variety of flora & fauna, and hence allure wildlife-lovers from far and wide.

Since the number of such animal reserves is above hundred, they all can be described here. Given below are some popular and my favorite destinations to see some of the rarest of rare species in their natural environment.

Corbett National Park: located in Indian state of Utterakhand, this place boasts an appealing wildlife. Along with lush green landscapes, this place is home to many rare species of animals, birds and reptiles. Among the major attraction of a Corbett visit are Tigers, Leopards, Boars, Himalayan Black beers, fishing cats and jungle cats.

Kanha National Park: spread on the gentle slopes of Vindhya Hills in Madhya Pradesh, this park is a great place to admire natural beauty. It can easily be tagged as a photographers delight. Take a jeep or elephant safari, and see the fascinating wildlife legacy of this park. One can opt for trekking inside the park.

Ranthambore National Park: perhaps the best place to spot royal Bengal Tiger in India is Ranthanbhor National Park in Rajasthan. In the state of forts and places, this park is another reason for tourists to pour in there constantly. Various unique species of bushes & plants, migrated birds and endangered reptiles are other major attractions of Ranthambhor national Park.

Kaziranga National Park: the real asset of this park is its stock of one-horned rhinos and unique lush vegetation. This well-protect area in Assam was established in 1905 and serves as a UNSCO World Heritage site. Perched amidst shimmering Brahamputra River and lush green Karbi Anglong hills, this park is no wonder home a variety of flora & fauna. Among the major highlights of Kaziranga Park are elephants, Asiatic wilf buffaloes, samber, Hispid, Jungle Cat, Bengal Fox, Gibbon and many more.

Perriyar Wildlife Sanctuary: it is also known as Thekkady Wildlife Sanctuary. Many of Kerala tour packages include a visit to this natural paradise. Inside the sanctuary are a beautiful lake and many species of birds, plants and wild animals. One can spot the giant King Cobra and Great Hornbill moving freely in this territory. A number of enchanting activities like boat-cruise, photography and elephant ride can be enjoyed in this park. This wildlife sanctuary is one of the most famous sanctuaries in Indian state of Kerala.

Apart from that, Kumarkoram Bird Sanctuary, Sundarban Park and Sariska National Park are other famous wildlife destinations to visit in India.
