There is no question that a lot of people are out there promoting the "work from home" dream.
And, to be honest, there really are a lot of good reasons to do so.
Here are six of them for you to consider.
1.
Flexibility - This is one of the best reasons for working from home.
If you need some time off, then you don't need to clear it with someone else first.
If you like to get up at 10:00 AM, then that's fine.
Like the idea of four day weekends for the rest of your life? Then you have some idea of what flexibility means.
2.
No commute - With the cost of fuel always on the rise (more so in some parts of the world), the idea of not having to fill your car's tank is an attractive one.
That's not to mention you will no longer have to worry about traffic jams, accidents, or unexpected traffic delays on the way to or from work.

Be your own boss - Speaking from experience, I can say this is not as good as it sounds, at first - but - even on the days when things aren't going the way you planned, working for yourself is the greatest feeling in the world.
Granted, it is not for everybody.
Some people really do need a boss to keep them on task, but if you're self-motivated and responsible, then this reason alone is all you need as a catalyst to work from home.
4.
Make more money - Yes, and no.
The best part is that someone else is not profiting from your hard work.
You are responsible for keeping track of all business expenses and profits, but the good news is that you get to keep what you make.
On top of that, you get to decide how to spend it.
So, it's not so much that you will automatically make more money, but that you will have control over what you make.
5.
More time with family - We only go through this life once.
Kids grow up fast, and time with our loved ones can seem so fleeting.
Ask someone which they value more - their family, or their job.
Most will say their family, but then ask how much time they spend at work compared to with family.
At this point it dawns on them that maybe their priorities are a bit out of whack.
And while you can't put a price on it, working from home allows you to spend more time with loved ones.
6.
Your reason - Look, we are all different.
Each of the above reasons are good, but your own personal reason is the most important.
Figure out what it is that drives you, find that passion for independence - that's what will carry you through any tough times when they come up.
These are just a few reasons why you may want to work from home.
Whatever it is, keep it firmly in mind; before, during, and after making the switch from having a boss to being your own.
You can do it, and understanding what motivates you is half the battle.
