Best Kennel Flooring

43
Kennel flooring is always a concern to dog owners, first of all in deciding what type of flooring to put down, and then maintaining and cleaning it.
Laying concrete is a very permanent solution to the kennel flooring problem, though if you are building large sized kennels and you are living in what is a more permanent location, that can be suitable flooring, especially if sealed properly.
If you are not living in a permanent residence, however, you will probably be more interested in a portable type of flooring instead.
There are a lot of different pre-made, portable kennel flooring products available online today.
The pro's to using this type of flooring are many; they are definitely very easy to install and fast to put down, they are made to provide optimum comfort for your pet, they're usually easy to clean and they look nice as well.
Instant kennel flooring is perfect for an outside dog pen.
You don't have to lay them on cement or over any hard surface, to the contrary they can be laid directly down on the grass if you want, though you will naturally kill the grass underneath.
There are different types of instant kennel flooring, though most of it tends to be fairly flexible and made from either rubber or hard plastic.
Costs are kept fairly low with most of the more popular instant kennel flooring on sale these days.
If you go for mesh flooring, it is the least costly but I personally feel it is also the least comfortable for dogs on a long term basis, and even if the mesh was very fine I wouldn't personally use it in my kennels.
You can also buy rubber floor tiles also for pretty cheap prices, the ones you will often see in the garden or outdoor section of stores, and they are both comfortable and they are easy to clean.
A con to rubber flooring though, especially if the squares are small and the rubber soft, is that pups will inevitably get hold of a corner and chew it, ruining the tile.
Whatever type of flooring you decide to get, another big advantage is that it is very easy, generally, to install.
With some flooring you simply lay it down, other types of flooring is attached to the ground by hammering spikes in around the edges.
Being portable, this makes it great to use for either temporary or permanent kennels and runs, and you can even take it with you if you are traveling, and set up a temporary kennel or shelter wherever you travel with your dog.
