How to Find out Who a Current Car Title Holder Is
- 1). Go to the U.S. Department of Justice's National Motor Vehicle Title Information System website to complete a title search.
- 2). Click on the link that reads "Check Vehicle History." Choose from the listed companies which one you want to use to complete your title search.
- 3). Enter your credit card information, personal information and the vehicle identification number. Submit your search.
- 4). View the results of the title search to obtain the name of the current title holder.
