How to Make Your Own 50th Birthday Invitations
- 1). Purchase cardstock in a design or color to complement the theme of the party.
- 2). Choose between a half-fold or quarter-fold design. A half-fold is formed by folding cardstock in half, forming an 8 1/2-by-5 1/2 card. A quarter-fold is formed by folding cardstock in half and then half again forming a 5 1/2-by-4 1/4 card. Thin cardstock works best for a quarter fold card.
- 3). Design the front of the card--your design can be funny or serious, depending on your sense of humor. Be creative with the design. It could be a collage with pictures of the honoree at birth, one year, 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 years of age; a picture with the caption "Look who's turning 50"; a picture of a famous show from the decade in which the guest of honor was born. You can photocopy a $50 and use an image-editing program to put the honoree's picture on the bill.
- 4). Write a poem, quote or saying on the inside-left of the card. It could be a catch phrase like "Gee whiz" or "Great Scott." Choose from one of the many quotes and poems about turning 50 that are humorous, serious or inspirational, or write one of your own.
- 5). Enter the party details on the inside-right of card. Clearly state the date, time, place and RSVP information.
- 6). Print or photocopy as many copies as needed.
- 7). Insert the invitations into an envelope, address and mail.
