Black and White Wedding Invitation Cards
I have been married for almost two years now, but I can still recall all of the planning that went into the wedding as well as the reception. One of the biggest and most expensive parts of the wedding that I had to decide on was the invitations.
The colors of my wedding were red, black, and white, so I wanted to find invitations that would match the colors of the wedding. However, for some reason, there were not any invitations that were exactly those colors that I really liked.
Cool - Sure black and white wedding invitations are elegant, but they're also cool--think Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack. With this color choice, you're going to appear way too cool for busy color palettes or loud colors.
Fun - Don't get roped into using these bi-color invites only for formal affairs. Black and white can be fun, too. This two-color theme also works well for whimsical marriage stationery, such as adorable penguins, or for bold graphic images, such as modern black dots on a crisp white paper.
Therefore I decided to look at other styles. My first inclination was to look at plain red invitations. There were some red invitations that I thought might work, but the look just was not formal enough for what I wanted in my wedding. Also, I was beginning to find that there were many different shades of red and many of them clashed with the color of red that I had chosen for my wedding.
I looked a little bit longer and then my mother said something to me that changed my thoughts. She asked me why I was focusing so much the red part of the wedding and did not look at my other two colors. I started to look at black and white invitations, and I was instantly in love with the look of them.
The black and white invitations were so elegant looking while still matching my style, and I knew that I would be able to find some invitations that would suit me. There was such a large selection to choose from that it was difficult to pick just one that I would like, and because I didn't have to worry about matching the colors, I was able to pick from any of the invitations that were offered.
When I finally found the invitations that worked for both my style as well as the budget I had, I ordered the invitations without any hesitation, and I have not regretted using black and white invitations once.
