Kentucky Wild Hog Hunting
- Possession of live wild hogs is illegal. This means trappers are obligated to kill at the trap site. They may not release or relocate the animals to a different site.
- Wild boar hunters are required to carry a Kentucky hunting license. A license can be purchase online, via the phone or in person at one of many vendors located statewide.
- No hunter may shoot wild boar across roads or hunt from motored vehicles. Hunting in medians is prohibited.
- Hunting is legal from 1/2 hour before sunrise until 1/2 hour after sunset only.
- Wild hogs are not indigenous to North America. They are Euro-Asian descendants thought to originally have been introduced to the continent by Christopher Columbus.
