How to Remove Tar Backed Linoleum From a Wood Floor
- 1). Cut the linoleum into manageable sections using the razor knife.
- 2). Heat the linoleum using the steamer until the tar on the back loosens.
- 3). Peel up the linoleum and roll it to one side to expose the tar on the sub floor.
- 4). Use the steamer to heat the tar. This will cause the tar to loosen.
- 5). Scrape the tar that remains on the wood sub floor with the putty knife while it is still warm from the steamer.
