  While standard holiday gift bags are easy to find, they are not as creative as making your own. Creating your own holiday bags allows you to put your own flare on each bag. You can also make sure they are the exact size needed to contain the present you have. Sometimes bags are too big or small, but that is not the case when you create your own.
  
  

Present Bags

• Use a bag that is a part of the present. For example, if someone is going away to college, give him a gift inside of a backpack. People tend to travel a lot around the holidays, so put your present inside a duffel bag, carry-on suitcase or any other travel bag. You give two presents in one this way.
  
  

Shopping Bags

• Use shopping bags as holiday gift bags. During the holidays, many stores sell festive reusable shopping bags. You can put many different gifts in these and they are also gifts that help the world by recycling. For example, give a holiday bag and put gifts like cookies in it. You can also use it like you would use a standard holiday gift bag and surround your gift with tissue paper.
  
  

Box Bags

• Make bags out of boxes. For example, cut a box down so its sides are only a few inches high and place the gift in it. Then wrap tissue paper or wrapping paper around it. The box gives it a bag look, but it provides a sturdy bottom. You can also get creative by using any paper you want to wrap it. If you are giving a gift like a bottle of wine or something heavy, then this it the route to take. Put shiny ribbons on it to make it even more festive for the season.
  
  

Lunch Bags

• Fold and decorate a small gift bag or lunch bag to create a Christmas tree bag. To do this, get a green paper bag, like the kind you use for lunches, or a brown bag that you paint green. Using a pencil and ruler, lightly draw a triangle on the bag, fold along the lines, and lay the bag flat again. Paint or glue decorations inside the triangle to make it look like a Christmas tree, then put your gift in it. Refold the bag along the triangle lines, stapling the sides together at the back. To close it, fold and staple or tape it and add a star or other decoration at the top.
