How to Tell What Number of Ounces of Water to Drink
- 1). Get on a scale and weigh yourself. If you guess or estimate what you weigh or go by what you've weighed in the past, you may not be using an accurate number for the calculation.
- 2). Divide your body weight in half. This number is the amount, in ounces, of water you should drink daily. If you weigh 100 pounds, you'll need to drink 50 ounces of water on a daily basis.
- 3). Convert the number of ounces into cups if that makes it easier to prepare your daily water-drinking regiment. If you need to drink 50 ounces of water a day, for example, it equates to 6.25 cups.
