Eradicating Fleas and Ticks from Your Yard

• 1). Prune your trees and shrubs and mow your grass, as ticks and fleas are prone to hide in these areas. Cutting these back will discourage ticks and fleas from nesting.
  
  
• 2). Fill all cracks and crevices in any cement walkways or structures in your yard. Ticks hide in these areas, waiting to attach themselves when a human or animal is near.
  
  
• 3). Place cedar around your fence, as this will block fleas from coming in from neighboring yards.
  
  
• 4). Mix basil with water and use it as a spray in your yard to combat ticks.
  
  
• 5). Apply Borax to your lawn to fight fleas. Continue the treatment for a few days to eradicate all fleas.
