Rosie thanked NCL for allowing her to be the new ship's godmother. She said she would take being a godmother seriously, and hopes her new "child" will grow to be strong. Rosie and her partner Kelly have booked NCL ships in the past for their R Family Vacations chartered cruises. Rosie announced that the fund raiser on the Norwegian Pearl the night before the christening raised $600,000 for her charity, Rosie's For All Kids Foundation, which supports non-profit programs that serve disadvantaged children.
Rosie showed her comedic side to the audience by saying that she had been practicing pulling the lever to release the bottle of champagne all week long. Her chosen way to practice--pulling the lever on a slot machine in the casino!
