Car Stereo Installation Directions
- 1). Lift the vehicle's hood to gain access to the battery terminals. Loosen the bolt that holds the grounding cable's clamp to the negative battery terminal with an adjustable wrench. Lift the cable from the battery terminal and set it aside.
- 2). Remove the dash panels and screws to access the factory stereo. Consult the repair manual for instructions. Unplug the stereo wiring connectors and antenna cable lead from the outlets on the back of the stock deck and set the stock deck aside.
- 3). Slide the faceplate adapter or installation collar into the stereo dock. Fold the metal tabs on the inside of the collar outward with the flat screwdriver. Slide the faceplate adapter into the dock until it snaps into place.
- 4). Gather the stereo wiring and antenna cable from the back of the dock. Plug the stereo wiring connectors into the lead connectors of the wiring harness adapter.
- 5). Connect the wiring harness adapter leads into the rear outlets on the new head unit. See the stereo's manual for precise connection locations. Plug the antenna cable into the FM antenna outlet on the back of the new deck.
- 6). Slide the new stereo unit into the faceplate adapter or installation collar until it snaps into place. Replace the dashboard panels and screws that were removed previously to extract the stock head unit. Return to the battery.
- 7). Place the grounding cable clamp back onto the negative battery terminal lead post. Tighten the bolt on the cable clamp with the wrench and close the hood.
