Whats a Good Rebel T1i Price?

15
I've seen the Canon Rebel T1i priced for anywhere from $800 to $1200 dollars online.
That includes some of the big online retailers, auction sites, small mom and pop web stores, and everything in between.
This is obviously a case of buyer beware.
You need to read the fine print to see what your getting, in terms of accessories and lenses.
The biggest deciding factor in price, is usually the lenses included.
There are of course other factors that influence pricing as well.
Megapixels is too commonly used in selling digital SLRs, and Pentax, Kodak and the rest of the retailers know that all too well.
With the Canon Rebel T1i, the sales department seems to have won over the design team.
To get the higher megapixel rating, Canon opted to place the pixels closer together, and to use somewhat smaller pixels than the D90 Digital SLR uses.
It's the best way to get extra pixels to fit on a smaller space.
What were talking about here, is basically another specification called pixel density.
Not something you'll see branded in plain sight on the T1i SLR packaging.
The density for the T1i SLR is 4.
5 megapixels per square cm, whereas the Nikon D90 12.
3MP is 3.
3 megapixels.
Crowded pixels is a concern, but it doesn't stop there.
As you go on the hunt for extra lenses, you'll soon find out, that additional megapixels means more money on higher priced lenses.
A high resolution, SLR equals a higher resolution solving lens, which means spending a few more dollars.
Canon has made a decision to box the 18-55mm EF-S f/3.
5-5.
6 IS with the T1i SLR, and no way would it be my first choice for a digital SLR that supports 15.
1 megapixels.
Canon does make lens that would produce better photographs for the T1i SLR, including the EF-S 18-200mm Canon .
Wait, there's more, as I'm not even near done slamming the issues with high pixel density.
High pixel density can adversely affect dynamic range, ISO, and diffraction.
Upon closer examination, it seems that our introductory assumption of the Rebel T1i being better bang for the buck was slightly presumptuous.
DxOMark testing is widely acknowledged to rank the functioning of DSLR image sensors.
DxOMark has tested the Canon 50D SLR which uses the same sensor as the Canon Rebel T1i, and supports my prior assertions, that the Nikon D90 12.
3MP produces higher quality images.
I am convinced, that T1i SLR DxOMark testing will be similar to that of the existing EOS 50D test data now available.
