On the Road Again
I travel a lot, for work at times but most of the times it's for pleasure. After travelling around the country in the first 5 courageous years of mine, I started to venture out of our wonderful nation; discovering new places, new cultures, and new traditions. My parents were comfortable with me travelling India as its home. I know the language and I know how to find my way home, even if I've been robbed! Bus, train, plane and sometimes bullock carts have been a part of my modes of travel - and knowing this, my parents were sceptical of me venturing out of the country,. My €boldness' and €daringness' when it came to travelling scared them a lot. So when I announced that I want to start venturing out of the country to fuel my travel desires, they weren't just scared; they flipped out completely.
The closer the date came for me to leave for south east asia, Malaysia actually, the more hyper and anguished my mom became. Her innate need to protect her only son just became stronger and stronger. This meant either I would have to cancel last minute or find an alternate solution in which they would know where I was and be able to contact me whenever they felt like it.
At a hangout session with my buddies, this concern came. From where I don't remember, but I do know that a long debate took place after. The debate was about international roaming vs international sim cards which ultimately led to a conversation on which international sim card would be the best option fromm me. After listening to everybody's opinion, I decided to try each and every one of these on my own to find the one which best suited me. Can any of you guess which one won me over? It was the Matrix international post paid sim card.
I'm no advocate for matrix, I'm just a genuine user who has tried the other ones too - clay telecom, uniconnect, Lyca. But somehow most left me disappointed. The Matrix card won me over because no matter where I travelled, especially in south east asia, I was able to catch a good network and wonderful voice clarity. Apart from that I was able to send emails to my mom and dad with pictures of all the places I travelled and all the people I met. I would definitely recommend this wonderful international sim card to everyone leaving india and going abroad because I have personally had a wonderful experience with it. I am, however, open to any new suggestions you guys have. So feel free to leave a note!
