The Dumb Mistake New Coaches Make When Starting Out

8
Are you a new coach who's just starting out? A large proportion of new coaches are dropping by the wayside due to paralyzing fears that can easily be overcome.
You have spent your hard earned cash getting your certification (well, some of us anyway:) and accreditation.
You are ready to go out into the world and to make a name for yourself as a "super coach" you are more than ready to start your successful coaching practice.
Then the dreaded fear sets in, you start to doubt yourself, you have done the training, you have had loads of practice clients, you have seen these clients have some fantastic breakthroughs and you are certain that this is what you should be doing with your life.
So why are you paralyzed with fear? What has happened to shatter your coaching confidence? Why are you beginning to doubt yourself? What has changed since you passed your coaching certification? I can sum it up for you in one word...
Support, or rather a distinct lack of it.
There is no one to continue to give you direction, there is no one to hold you accountable for following through with your action steps towards your milestones.
There is no guidance or support from the coaching company once they have accredited you.
As far as they are concerned they have held up their end of the deal, they have trained you, and before the ink has even dried on your certification, they are training the next batch of wannabe coaches.
It is up to us as coaches to stick together, to develop our own support network, to "flock together" so to speak.
The reason that we all became coaches was to help people, and make a difference in peoples lives, however we can't help anyone till we have helped ourselves.
The best way to help yourself is to set up a strong support network around you, this will allow you to rise to the coaching challenge and be all that you can be.
Stop trying to do it all on your own, seek out people who can help and encourage you, this will enable you to help and encourage others through your coaching.
Remember, "No man is an island.
